Last week we talked about the Kia Soul and the Kia Optima receiving tops scores in the Strategic Vision’s Total Quality Index Study. This week, they’ve done it again! The Kia Optima and the Kia Soul were recently acknowledged with Vehicle Satisfaction Awards from AutoPacific. If you don’t already know why these are two of the best selling Kia vehicles, you should keep reading to find out.

The Vehicle Satisfaction Awards does a survey to help determine the award winners each year. They look at 51 attributes including interior comfort, convenience, fuel economy and performance – just to name a few.

The Kia Optima won the Best-In-Class Mid-Size Car award for the second year in a row. For 2014, there were quite a few improvements made. There are exterior design changes like the updated front and rear fascias. There are also two Theta II powerplants that use gasoline direct injection technology, the 2.4-liter GDI four-cylinder engine or the 2.0-liter GDI turbo engine. There are a plethora of high tech amenities added for 2014 as well.

The Kia Soul won the Best-In-Class Compact Car for the very first time. 2014 brought a change in dimensions to the Kia Soul allowing for more passenger and cargo room. The new chassis is stiffer, longer, and wider. Kia also increased torque and upgraded the suspension to make driving in the Kia Soul more agile. There are also quite a few convenience features that now come standard like Bluetooth wireless capabilities and steering wheel-mounted controls.
