So you’re watching the news and a celebrity or political figure steps off their plane and there’s a lavish limo waiting for them. Pope Francis decided that’s not how he rolls. Recently, the Pope visited South Korea and the vehicle that he chose to have waiting for him when he got off the plane? A Kia Soul.
The Kia Soul has been receiving some top accolades over the past couple months, like being one of the top ten Coolest Cars Under $18,000 for 2014 and the Vehicle Satisfaction Award from AutoPacific.
Kia recently announced details about the 2015 Kia Soul which only solidified why this vehicle is worthy of all these awards, and driving the Pope around South Korea. All trims received upgraded engines. The base receives a gasoline direct injection 1.6-liter four cylinder engine. The Plus and Exclaim trims receive a more powerful 2.0-liter NU power plant with gasoline direct injection as well.
There were a few aesthetic and technology feature changes as well. The Exclaim model will receive new interior color choices through the Umber Color Package and two new exterior colors – Fathom Blue or Cloud White. And one of the main changes was that the 2015 Kia Soul will receive the UVO eServices Package offering four new features including Geo-fencing, Speed Alert, Curfew alert and Driving Score.
It’s no wonder Pope Francis chose the Kia Soul with everything this vehicle has to offer. And this was a pretty cool promotion for the Kia Soul.
