The 2017 model year brought a lot of changes for the Kia Soul. First and foremost, the engine powering the vehicle was upgraded to the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine that kicks out 201 horsepower, a 40 horsepower boost over the previous year model. There is also a change to the transmission for the Kia Soul. This vehicle is now available with a seven-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). There are a plethora of new convenience technology systems as well, including Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Blind Spot Detection, UVO32 with e-Services and integrated Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
“People gravitate toward the Soul because of its head-turning style, extensive feature content, and excellent value. Its practicality makes it a perfect fit for just about every type of lifestyle,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president product planning Kia Motors America. “Being recognized by Consumer Guide Automotive for a third consecutive year proves the Soul continues to be a crowd favorite, and with the new turbocharged version offered for 2017, we anticipate its popularity will surge to new heights.”
The Consumer Guide Automotive editors award Best Buy Awards in 20 different segments. The two main factors in this award are price and value.
