Fall is here and with that comes Football season! The Kia brand is releasing their new Kia Sorento ad campaign to honor the season kick off and two legends are joining them – Bo Jackson and Brian Bosworth. This ad marks the third consecutive season partnering with NBC’s Sunday Night Football. It features Tecmo Bowl, a sport video game from 30 years ago, and its signature 8-bit graphics that are incorporated into live action footage. The campaign is made up of two spots “Tecmo Bros” and “Tecmo Bo”. Bo Jackson drives the Kia Sorento while highlighting the advanced technology and driver assistance features. These include Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking.
“Football fans remember these legendary players, and paired with the ever-lasting popularity of Tecmo Bowl, we believed these were the perfect channels to communicate the power, intelligence and nimble handling of the Sorento,” said Colin Jeffery, chief creative officer, David&Goliath
“At Kia, we are always looking to stand out, Sunday Night Football has been the top-rated primetime show for five straight years, and after our football-themed advertising helped push Kia Sorento sales up more than 13 percent in 2015, returning this year was a no-brainer,” said Michael Sprague, chief operating officer and EVP, Kia Motors America (KMA).
