Fall is here! And while we are sad about saying goodbye to the warm weather, the Kia brand is happy about how things wrapped up in the month of August. The brand recently announced their sales figures for the month, which totaled 54,248 units. This contributes to a 3.8 percent year-to-date sales increase over 2015. There were a few Kia vehicles that played a role in this number, so keep reading for more information.
So how did the automaker achieve this number? There are quite a few popular vehicles in the Kia fleet and consumers were eating them up this past month! The 2017 Kia Forte family posted their best-ever August sales selling 8,307 units during the month. The Kia Sedona also surprised everyone by more than doubling its sales over August 2015. This vehicle sold 5,147 units this year, compared to 2,545 units last year. Top sellers in August were the Kia Optima, selling 9,470, and the Kia Soul, selling a whopping 12,253 units. The Kia Sedona is available in five trim levels: the L, LX, EX, SX, and SX-L. It is powered by a 3.3-liter V6 engine rated a 276 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque.
“Despite signs that industry-wide sales may have peaked in 2015, Kia is up nearly four percent through August on the strength of double-digit year-over-year increases for Kia Rio, Kia Forte, Kia Sportage, and Kia Sedona,” said Michael Sprague, chief operating officer and EVP, KMA.
