Kia kicked off November in Las Vegas at the Specialty Equipment Market Association Show, also known as SEMA. This year Kia decided to celebrate its championship winning season with a special theme – “A Day at the Races”. Just a few years ago at SEMA, Kia announced that they were planning on entering professional motorsports. Keep reading for more information on what this theme meant for Kia and SEMA.
“Competing – and winning – in the Pirelli World Challenge series allows Kia to provide tangible proof of the quality, durability, reliability and performance of the vehicles we build,” said Michael Sprague, executive vice president, sales & marketing, KMA. “This year’s SEMA show gives us the opportunity to celebrate our hard-fought championships while also embracing the fun and excitement of the fan experience in a way that only Kia could do.”
The “A Day at the Races” display showed off a variety of Kia vehicles and commemorates the brands racing success. Kia displayed four vehicles at SEMA all modified to fit a different aspect of the theme: the Ballast Point Kia Sedona, the Smitten Ice Cream Kia Soul EV, the High-Performance Kia K900 and the Ultimate Karting Kia Sedona. The first two are inspired by the fans and what they experience, while the other two were a nod to the performance aspect of professional motorsports.
Entering professional motorsports has had an impact on how Kia creates each and every one of their vehicles. If you would like to find out how, swing by Folsom Lake Kia. We have a variety of new and pre-owned Kia vehicles at our Sacramento area dealership. We look forward to seeing you soon!
