Anniversaries are always special events, especially in the tumultuous automotive marketplace, where one false move can have serious consequences. So when a company like Kia celebrates an anniversary as significant as their 20th anniversary in the U.S. automotive marketplace, it’s exciting, significant news. Twenty years is a significant chunk of time, and when we think about the great vehicles in our Kia showroom here at Folsom Lake Kia, we’re excited that Kia has made so many great moves.
During the last five years Kia has introduced 16 largely redesigned or completely brand new vehicles, including exciting sedan models and crossover vehicles — and the very popular and very fun, completely redesigned 2014 Kia Soul. 2013 marked the second straight year of sales of more than five hundred thousand vehicles sold and the second straight year the 2014 Kia Optima sedan led the way in sales for the company, topping 155,000 sales last year, 2013 — an all-time record for the seventh largest automaker in the U.S.
Kia also landed a top-ten ranking for quality in 2013, in addition to other exciting and noteworthy accolades: The 2014 Kia Optima and 2014 Kia Sorento were both recognized among the “10 Best Under $25,000,” and the 2014 Kia Forte and 2014 Kia Cadenza sedans came out on top in competitive comparison tests in popular car enthusiast magazines.
And the future looks bright for Kia with the arrival of the new 2014 Kia K900 sedan later this year, which shifts the automotive world with its rear-drive architecture and attainable luxury.
