Each year, Interbrand releases the list of 100 Best Global Brands. The Kia brand is excited to announce that they have grown 12 percent in value over the last year, helping the brand jump up five spots on the list. Keep reading for more information!

This is the 17th annual Best Global Brand report from Interbrand. They analyze the strength of a brand and how it benefits organizations. They rank brands based on financial performance of branded products and services, the role the brand plays in influencing customer choice, and the strength of the brand in commanding a premium price or secure earnings for the company. This is the first ISO-certified brand valuation method.

Mike Rocha, Global Director of Brand Valuation, Interbrand, said, “Kia’s impressive growth in brand value in recent years can be seen as a direct result of consumers’ strengthening attachment to the highly desirable designs and features of Kia’s product line-up, and engagement with worldwide communications activities centered on developing the brand’s image. Kia’s brand performance in the European market in particular has been driven by a strong SUV line-up, as well as engaging experiential customer communications programs, on- and off-line.”

The Kia brand attributes this growth to efforts going on company-wide to strengthen the brand, such as the first-place ranking in the JD Power 2016 Initial Quality Study, and the third place ranking in JD Power’s Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) awards. The Kia brand has also focused on improving vehicle design, specifically of the Kia Sportage and the Kia Optima, as well as expanding the GT model line up.
