It is always an honor to receive recognition from an organization that is well-respected in the auto industry. But it’s even more of an honor to receive the highest rating from that organization. This is why we are extremely excited to announce that the 2017 Kia Forte has earned the Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Want to know more about this rating and why the Kia Forte earned it? Keep reading for additional information.

To earn a Top Safety Pick+ rating vehicles much earn a “good” in all five crashworthiness tests which include small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side impact, roof strength and head restraints, while also earning an “advanced” or “superior” rating in front crash prevention and an “acceptable” or “good” in headlight testing.

The 2017 model year brought a complete refresh for the Kia Forte. New to the vehicle are advanced driver assistance systems such as Autonomous Emergency Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Forward Collision Warning and Dynamic Bending Light. Also new is the S trim level that falls between the entry level LX and the top level EX.

“Kia Forte is one of our most popular and best-selling vehicles,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president, Product Planning KMA. “The new distinction of TSP+ rating from the highly-respected IIHS re-confirms the high priority we place on safety for our customers and why Forte remains a favorite in the compact sedan class.”
